EMPTY ROOM

I arrived in a room that was completely white and empty.
I had no idea what was in it.
It wasn't black, where you can't see anything.
It was white. So white that you couldn't see anything at all.
Maybe everything in this room was white.

Just as I was thinking that, something like an eyeball suddenly appeared.
Was there a living creature here?
A creature with something like an eyeball and an eyepatch was staring right at me.

Eww!

The creature seemed to be wrapped in layers and layers of white gauze.
Around its neck, something like layers of gauze was wound tightly. It looked soft, but somehow unfinished, as if something had been torn apart and stitched back together.
Red and white stripes. Purple marks, like words scribbled in a hurry. And so many red stitches.

Were they trying to tell me something?
I wanted to read them.
But I couldn't.

I continued forward and found something that looked like a door.
It was transparent.
I hadn't opened it or closed it. It wasn't an automatic door. It made no sound.
But I had the feeling that I was passing through something.
Maybe it really was a door.

Around it, there were things that looked like microorganisms.

Eww!

I decided to zoom in and look at them through a microscope.
Some of you might be wondering, "Was there really a microscope in this white room? Was the microscope white?"

Who knows.
But in this dreamlike world, things appear whenever they're needed.
I have no idea how it works.

Something came floating towards me.
It was a human figure wearing something like a cape.
Finally, after all this, I had found something I could call human!

She was flapping her arms around wildly.
It looked as though she had sleeves. Or maybe she didn't.
Her arms were definitely going through something, but I couldn't tell if it was actually clothing.
She was definitely human.
But whatever she was wearing didn't look like anything humans normally wear.

Then she went flapping away...

What!?!?!? She could fly?!

Immediately afterwards, I spotted a strange face on the wall.

So many things happening, one after another.
That's because this is an improvised story.
I literally just made it up.
Now, let's continue!

The face was sticking out of the wall in three dimensions, staring right at me with an almost aggressive intensity.

Peeking, peeking, peeking!

Its hair was absolutely incredible.
That was my first impression.
But when I looked more closely, the bushy, tangled thing wasn't hair at all.

Hmmmm. Maybe it was wearing some kind of hat.
What I had instinctively taken for hair wasn't hair.
Obvious things aren't always what they seem.
I thought I should really try to think for myself.

Its actual hair was somewhere else entirely.
Wait. THAT is hair? And THIS is a hat?
I was getting confused.

As I moved forward, words appeared beside the wall.

PRESCRIPTION.
PRESCRIPTION.
PRESCRIPTION.
Written in red.

The same word appeared over and over again.
Had this person really wanted a prescription that badly?
What on earth had happened here?
Can you guess?

I wondered whether the word meant something else entirely. Something I didn't know.
I had no idea.

People say, "Never give up."
But I just give up on this on the spot.
Why not? I have no time for this.

In this place, sometimes you never find out what anything really is.

And you, yes, you reading this right now, have just spent a little time in luxurious, leisurely confusion, without the faintest idea what this story was actually about.

I hope it left you with some feelings.....
maybe, just maybe, this moment will become a little memory of its own.

Yes? Maybe?

Thank you for spending time with me at BLABLAHOSPITAL.
